On Monday, the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin Artchange Touadera, announced on the social media platform X that the country has launched its official meme coin CAR, calling it an "experiment" aimed at promoting people's unity, national development, and putting the country on the international stage. However, the authenticity of CAR tokens has been questioned by multiple parties. According to Cointelegraph, an AI deep forgery detection model on Deepware, a tool for detecting deepfakes, marked the video in the tweet of the President of the Central African Republic as suspicious, while another model stated that the probability of the video being a deepfake was 82%. The founder of trading platform Jupiter, Meow, also issued a warning and stated that he has contacted the Central African Republic office to further confirm the authenticity.
